Colin Powell Endorses Obama 1

It is not only the fact of the endorsement, but it is also the way in which the endorsement was made.

I still do not like the way Colin Powell handled the Iraq War presentation to the UN. However, even if you want to completely discredit the man, what he said in the above two videos bears repeating over and over. Follow this link to see Huffington Post’s article and reader reaction to the endorsement.

“She’s a very distinguished woman, and she’s to be admired,” he said. “But at the same, now that we have had a chance to watch her for some seven weeks, I don’t believe she’s ready to be president of the United States, which is the job of the vice president. And so that raised some question in my mind as to the judgment that Sen. McCain made.”

As for Powell’s statements at the UN, he had informed the Bush Administration he would not make the statements he did unless they had bullet proof evidence that they were true. He was holding off to the last moment when just before his speech the White House assured him they were certain of the veracity of the content of his speech. Blame Bush and his circus of clowns, not Powell.
