Economist Emmanuel Saez wins John Bates Clark Medal

Berkeley’s Emmanuel Saez won the 2009 John Bates Clark Medal awarded to the American Economist under the age of forty who is judged to have made the most significant contribution to economic thought and knowledge. Saez’s major contributions have been in Public Economics and, particularly, in the theory and practice of optimal tax policy.
