Last night I received the following email message:
A few moments ago, (approximately 7:30 p.m. EDT), Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich took to the floor of the House of Representatives to present 35 Articles of Impeachment against George W. Bush. The House session is being televised live on C-SPAN.
I watched several hours of Kucinich’s presentation. I expected to wake up this morning to see headlines about this event. Much to my surprise, at 7:35 AM EDT, only Reuters is reporting this event. Follow this link to Reuters meager coverage. Even CSPAN is not mentioning the news that they covered live on their own network.
I guess we have just seen another way that the press has for fooling you. Just don’t bother to report the news if you don’t like it.
Now, at 7:50 AM EDT, I see that the news has finally hit Huffington Post. Follow this link to their article. You do have to do a text search on their home page to find the link to this article. How foolish of me to think this would be a major headline on the Huffington Post web site.
Follow this link to see the PDF version of the 65 page text of Kucinich’s indictment.
Follow this link to the version on Rep. Kucinich’s House Web Site. This version does not require a PDF reader. The link was suggested by ShelahJ on 10Jun2008.
I just noticed that C-SPAN finally has a link to the video and related stories. The preceding link is to C-SPAN’s home page. As time goes on, this article will get relegated to C-SPAN’s archives. This is the link to the Congressional Record for 09June2008.
