Clearly this notification is preliminary as weather patterns can rapidly change, but considering this past week, it may be useful to residents to consider the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">potential<\/span> for a Nor&#8217;easter next week. The actual notification from the National Weather Service is as follows, with the most relevant text in bold print and underlined for quick review:<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Looking at <em>Google News<\/em>, I noticed that the only news source that they mentioned reporting this information was <em>Fox News<\/em>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/weather\/2012\/11\/01\/round-2-forecasters-predict-noreaster-may-hit-east-coast-election-day\/\" target=\"_blank\">Round 2? Forecasters predict nor&#8217;easter may hit East Coast election day<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I looked up\u00a0 the <a title=\"Weather Channel Forecast for Sturbridge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.weather.com\/weather\/tenday\/Sturbridge+MA+01566:4:US\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Weather Channel forecast for Sturbridge<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Weather Channel was forecasting sunny and 44<sup>o<\/sup> on Tuesday with a 0% chance of rain.<\/p>\n<p>For\u00a0Wednesday,\u00a0it\u00a0did predict\u00a044<sup>o<\/sup>\u00a0and\u00a0a\u00a060% chance\u00a0of\u00a0rain.\u00a0\u00a0Winds\u00a0of\u00a012\u00a0mph.\u00a0\u00a0Doesn&#8217;t\u00a0sound\u00a0like a\u00a0Nor&#8217;easter\u00a0to\u00a0me.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote back to Selectman Creamer:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If I didn&#8217;t know you as a person of very high integrity, it might even sound like an attempt to manipulate the election.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Thomas Creamer responded that the link to the forecast that he sent was directly to the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/discussions\/hpcdiscussions.php?disc=preep\" title=\"Link provided by Thomas Creamer\" target=\"_blank\">National Weather Service<\/a><\/strong>.  He is absolutely right.<\/p>\n<p>Also, note that the Weather Channel was predicting overnight lows that could result in snow if the &#8220;rain&#8221; they were predicting fell at night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Received an email from Selectman Thomas Creamer which read in part.
