{"id":13807,"date":"2013-05-22T22:43:50","date_gmt":"2013-05-23T02:43:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?p=13807"},"modified":"2013-05-22T22:45:17","modified_gmt":"2013-05-23T02:45:17","slug":"charter-schools-in-boston-score-higher-on-key-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2013\/05\/22\/charter-schools-in-boston-score-higher-on-key-tests\/","title":{"rendered":"Charter schools in Boston score higher on key tests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The Boston Globe<\/em> has the article <a title=\"The Boston Globe article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/metro\/2013\/05\/21\/charter-schools-outperform-traditional-schools-key-tests-study-says\/ZssXZZRZ174wy39OmwVDnN\/\" target=\"_blank\">Charter schools in Boston score higher on key tests<\/a>.\u00a0 If you are not a Globe subscriber, the only text you get to see is:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Boston charter schools outperform other public schools on three popular barometers of achievement \u2014 the MCAS, the SAT, and the Advanced Placement exams \u2014 but tend to have lower four-year graduation rates, according to a study being released Wednesday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If you read the newspaper or have full access to the site, you will see the following about half way through the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In Boston, there are 25 charter schools.<\/p>\n<p>The study examined 3,400 students who sought admission to one of the six charter high schools in Boston between fall 2002 and 2008.
