{"id":17742,"date":"2014-07-08T09:32:29","date_gmt":"2014-07-08T13:32:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?p=17742"},"modified":"2014-07-08T09:38:21","modified_gmt":"2014-07-08T13:38:21","slug":"why-we-need-female-supreme-court-justices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2014\/07\/08\/why-we-need-female-supreme-court-justices\/","title":{"rendered":"Why We Need Female Supreme Court Justices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am such a fan of my own writing (a little self-directed sarcasm there), that I thought an excerpt from a <a title=\"Previous post\" href=\"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2014\/07\/08\/immigrant-surge-rooted-in-law-to-curb-child-trafficking\/\" target=\"_blank\">previous post<\/a> deserved a post of its own.<\/p>\n<p>It is great irony that the issue in the Hobby Lobby case revolved around contraception.\u00a0 It is typical of the majority of Justices that they did not think ahead to the consequences of their action.\u00a0 The majority was all male.\u00a0 Men frequently do not think about the consequences of sexual activity the way that women do.<\/p>\n<p>Most often women have to deal with the consequences in a way that men do not.\u00a0 So their thinking about the consequences is in a way that men do not always have the necessity to think.<\/p>\n<p>Extra focus on consequences is but one example of the kind of thought that women can bring to the court that men are not as likely to bring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am such a fan of my own writing (a little self-directed sarcasm there), that I thought an excerpt from a previous post deserved a post of its own.
