{"id":18778,"date":"2014-11-10T22:11:48","date_gmt":"2014-11-11T03:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?p=18778"},"modified":"2014-11-10T22:41:28","modified_gmt":"2014-11-11T03:41:28","slug":"country-on-wrong-track-say-people-who-did-not-vote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2014\/11\/10\/country-on-wrong-track-say-people-who-did-not-vote\/","title":{"rendered":"Country on Wrong Track, Say People Who Did Not Vote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The New Yorker<\/em> has the article <a title=\"The New Yorker aricle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorker.com\/humor\/borowitz-report\/country-wrong-track-say-people-vote\" target=\"_blank\">Country on Wrong Track, Say People Who Did Not Vote<\/a> by Andy Borowitz.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The United States of America is on the wrong track and no one is taking action to fix it, says a broad majority of registered voters who did not vote last Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new survey, anger, frustration, and a pervasive view that the nation is moving in a fatal direction dominated the mood of those who were doing something other than voting on Election Day.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is so close to not being the satire that is customary for Andy Borowitz, that I cannot tell if this is satire or a satire on satire.\u00a0 Does Andy Borowitz not understand the problem, or does he understand it so well that it is a satire of the people who believe this is a &#8220;straight&#8221; satire?\u00a0 Is this what they invented the phrase &#8220;kidding on the square&#8221; for?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Maybe this will clarify what I am trying to say.  <\/p>\n<p>Is Andy Borowitz satirizing the people who are too stupid to vote to change the system they claim to dislike?
