It features the <em>YouTube<\/em> video <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=pcy7qV-BGF4\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"YouTube video\">Was the Civil War About Slavery?<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nThe evidence is clear and overwhelming. Slavery was, by a wide margin, the single most important cause of the Civil War &#8212; for both sides. Before the presidential election of 1860, a South Carolina newspaper warned that the issue before the country was, &#8220;the extinction of slavery,&#8221; and called on all who were not prepared to, &#8220;surrender the institution,&#8221; to act. Shortly after Abraham Lincoln&#8217;s victory, they did.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"text-align:center\">\n    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pcy7qV-BGF4\" style=\"border: thick ridge #009900;\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>Note the meaning of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/?gws_rd=ssl#q=define+peculiar\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"Google definition of peculiar\">peculiar<\/a> institution as implied by the video.  It doesn&#8217;t mean odd institution.
