{"id":2160,"date":"2009-09-02T13:59:09","date_gmt":"2009-09-02T17:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?p=2160"},"modified":"2009-09-02T13:59:09","modified_gmt":"2009-09-02T17:59:09","slug":"worcester-t-g-reader-goes-wacko","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2009\/09\/02\/worcester-t-g-reader-goes-wacko\/","title":{"rendered":"Worcester T &#038; G Reader Goes Wacko"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Why is this not surprising?<\/p>\n<p>Follow <a title=\"Worcester T &amp; G Letter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.telegram.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/article?AID=\/20090902\/LETTERS\/909020364\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>this link<\/strong><\/a> to a letter to the editor that the Worcester T &amp; G chose to publish.\u00a0 They even chose a headline &#8220;Palin\u2019s &#8216;death panel\u2019 wasn\u2019t far off&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Among the <a title=\"Comment on letter\" href=\"http:\/\/www.telegram.com\/apps\/pbcs.dll\/section?Category=reader_comments&amp;article_ID=909020364&amp;WT_article_headline=Palin%27s%20%27death%20panel%27%20wasn%27t%20far%20off\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>comments<\/strong><\/a> you will find one that I wrote.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As with all such reports, this one seems to be made up too.<\/p>\n<p>I can find no mention of &#8216;Center for Health Outcomes, Research and Evaluation&#8217; in the house bill. As for &#8216;cost-utility analysis&#8217;, the word &#8216;utility&#8217; does not appear anywhere in the bill.<\/p>\n<p>What I did find on page 502:<\/p>\n<p>CENTER FOR COMPARATIVE EFFECTIVENESS RESEARCH ESTABLISHED<\/p>\n<p>Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality a Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research to conduct, support, and synthesize research with respect to the outcomes, effectiveness, and appropriateness of health care services and procedures in order to identify the manner in which diseases, disorders, and other health conditions can most effectively and appropriately be prevented, diagnosed, treated, and managed clinically.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why is this not surprising?
