{"id":27387,"date":"2019-04-26T11:47:32","date_gmt":"2019-04-26T15:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?p=27387"},"modified":"2019-04-26T11:47:32","modified_gmt":"2019-04-26T15:47:32","slug":"inside-biden-and-warrens-yearslong-feud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2019\/04\/26\/inside-biden-and-warrens-yearslong-feud\/","title":{"rendered":"Inside Biden and Warren&#8217;s Yearslong Feud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Politico <\/em>has this great article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/magazine\/story\/2019\/03\/12\/biden-vs-warren-2020-democratic-primaries-bankruptcy-bill-225728\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Inside Biden and Warren&#8217;s Yearslong Feud<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n\u201cFor a decade, Orrin Hatch, Joe Biden, Jim Sensenbrenner, and dozens of others in Congress decried the state of bankruptcy laws that permitted people to take advantage of financial institutions,\u201d Warren wrote in a 2008 post on Credit Slips, a bankruptcy law blog, after Tim Russert asked Clinton and Edwards about their votes for the bill during a Democratic presidential debate. \u201cWith a recession bearing down, the language of bankruptcy has shifted from \u2018abusers\u2019 who \u2018take advantage of lenders\u2019 to language of concern over the growing stress on hard-working families.\u201d While voting for the bill had won senators the gratitude of lobbyists who write campaign checks, \u201cthat door swings both ways,\u201d Warren went on. \u201cThose who wanted to snuzzle with the lobbyists leave themselves vulnerable to counterattacks.\u201d\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Funny Elizabeth Warren didn&#8217;t mention this in 2016 when she tried to sell us on what a great President that Hillary Clinton would make.
