I described a whole suite of inflation-dampening policies, many of which were <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/06\/08\/moderate-democrats-push-their-party-to-do-more-to-fight-inflation.html\" rel=\"noopener\">later embraced<\/a><span> by the administration and by some of the economists who <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jasonfurman\/status\/1380153776489836555?s=20&amp;t=gHUS04wJGqXmCegCM0I65Q\" rel=\"noopener\">initially dismissed<\/a><span> my piece on the grounds that mainstream economics <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/paulkrugman\/status\/1381945241599680512?s=20&amp;t=gHUS04wJGqXmCegCM0I65Q\" rel=\"noopener\">tells us<\/a><span> that any inflation threat can easily be contained by monetary policy.
