(Maybe &#8220;ill advised&#8221; is not strong enough, but that is all I can think of at the moment.)<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Bio of Trent Lott\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Trent_Lott\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Senator Trent Lott<\/strong><\/a> resigned as Senate Republican Leader on December 20, 2002 over remarks Lott made on December 5, 2002 at the 100th birthday party of Sen.
