{"id":4716,"date":"2010-09-16T19:00:14","date_gmt":"2010-09-17T00:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?p=4716"},"modified":"2010-09-16T19:12:38","modified_gmt":"2010-09-17T00:12:38","slug":"what-about-all-those-progressive-wins-on-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2010\/09\/16\/what-about-all-those-progressive-wins-on-tuesday\/","title":{"rendered":"What About All Those Progressive Wins On Tuesday?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am sure you have heard about all the upsets by the Republican Tea Party on the right in Tuesday&#8217;s primaries.<\/p>\n<p>Those of you in Massachusetts probably also heard lots of news reports about the progressive win in New Hampshire.\u00a0 What&#8217;s that, you heard not a peep?\u00a0 What&#8217;s wrong with those left leaning media that are always shilling for the Democrats?\u00a0 Did they let you down?<\/p>\n<p>You can read some news and see a video interview on the <a title=\"PCC Web page about Ann McLane Kuster\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.actblue.com\/contribute\/page\/pccc_main?refcode=kuster_victory_kick_fin3_4mo\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>PCCC web site<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>WE DID IT! Bold progressive Ann McLane Kuster defeated Joe Lieberman&#8217;s presidential campaign co-chair Katrina Swett in Tuesday&#8217;s New Hampshire congressional primary. PCCC members made thousands of phone calls and chipped in nearly $100,000 toward her people-powered victory.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perhaps some of my readers from New Hampshire can tell us more.<\/p>\n<p>Since I live out in the red part of Massachusetts, I didn&#8217;t see anything in the local Worcester paper.\u00a0 However, I do watch the Boston television stations, and I heard nothing.<\/p>\n<p>There is a Boston Globe article <a title=\"Article on Kuster's win\" href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/new_hampshire\/articles\/2010\/09\/14\/democrats_pick_kuster_in_nhs_2nd_district\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Democrats pick Kuster in NH&#8217;s 2nd District<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Still there is not quite the enthusiasm about the national implications of a progressive winning the campaign.\u00a0 If Kuster had been a Tea Party candidate, can you imagine the publicity?\u00a0 Maybe it is just that the media cannot believe that people would actually vote for Tea Party candidates, so it\u00a0 is news when they do.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We report that the only exciting candidates are from the Tea Party, and we let you decide.\u00a0 What could be more fair and balanced than that?&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am sure you have heard about all the upsets by the Republican Tea Party on the right in Tuesday&#8217;s primaries.
