{"id":879,"date":"2008-10-24T10:54:29","date_gmt":"2008-10-24T14:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?p=879"},"modified":"2008-10-24T10:55:33","modified_gmt":"2008-10-24T14:55:33","slug":"associated-press-the-faux-noise-of-the-print-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/2008\/10\/24\/associated-press-the-faux-noise-of-the-print-media\/","title":{"rendered":"Associated Press the Faux Noise of the Print Media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Follow <a title=\"AP Article on polling\" href=\"http:\/\/www.telegram.com\/article\/20081024\/NEWS\/810240659\/1052\/NEWSREWIND\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>this link<\/strong><\/a> to the Associated Press article in which they attempt to further muddy the picture about their faulty poll methods.<\/p>\n<p>If you cannot detect the application of <a title=\"Link to category Greenberg's Law Of The Media\" href=\"http:\/\/ssgreenberg.name\/PoliticsBlog\/?cat=165\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Greenberg&#8217;s Law of the Media<\/strong><\/a>, I will clarify by including my letter to the editor of the <em>Worcester Telegram &amp; Gazette<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Has the Associated Press no shame whatsoever?<\/p>\n<p>On page 3 of today&#8217;s paper, you have a substantial article by the Associated Press that goes into great detail as to why polls may have large variations in results.<\/p>\n<p>In this article they mention their own poll which had Obama&#8217;s lead at only 1 point.\u00a0 This poll was a far outside the results of all other polls.<\/p>\n<p>The article even mentions the use of weighting to &#8220;correct&#8221; raw results.<\/p>\n<p>Nowhere in the article do they mention that their own weighting included weighting evangelical voters at twice the rate that they have voted in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Now that they have been caught doctoring the polls, they have the gall to come out and try to obfuscate what they have done even\u00a0 further.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Follow this link to the Associated Press article in which they attempt to further muddy the picture about their faulty poll methods.
