The Beast Is Starved: Welcome to the Next Great Depression

Tangelia Sinclair-Moore posted a link to The Beast Is Starved: Welcome to the Next Great Depression on her Facebook page. The article begins with the following:

Since Reagan, Republicans have been on a “starve the beast” campaign – by which they mean eviscerate the government by taking away as much revenue as they can.

Starving the beast has been the biggest bait and switch con game that has ever been perpetrated on the American people. And the most tragic.

I post this mostly for my own record-keeping so that I can find this article when I want to read it again. As I start to read The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy, I am learning that the crisis phase for this country must occur. No posts of mine are going to stop it. There is a hint in what I have read so far that there are some actions worth taking even though the crisis is inevitable. I will report back here, when I find out what they are.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich: We need Obama to be FDR

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) appeared Thursday night on Current TV’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann, guest hosted by David Shuster, to discuss job creation in the United States.

Kucinich said America needed President Barack Obama “to be FDR.”

“We need him to come forward and say, ‘I see the great misery that exists in this country.’ I see that not only are there 14 million Americans out of work, but another 12 million Americans are under employed. We have to put Americans back to work.”

As the following video will show, almost no one is driving the point home these days as well as Dennis Kucinich.

I do cringe a bit when he goes off on the rant about China manipulating their currency. I guess he can be forgiven when just about every politician from the far left to the far right harps on this same phony issue.
